Sungchang was founded in 1916 in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, focused on lumber sale and mill operation
Sungchang was a pioneer in the Korean lumber industry.

Founded as Sungchang Store in Yeongju, Gueongbuk by Founder and Chairman Chung, Tai Sung (lumber sales & mill operation)

Established as Sungchang Forestry Co., Ltd. After merging with Chunyang Lumber Co., Ltd.

During this time, the company moved to Busan in order to expand its production capabilities,
laying foundation to Korean plywood industry and taking an important first step towards growing into a greater wood company.
